First, and perhaps most importantly, get some good walking shoes. College campuses are not known for offering excellent parking options, so expect to walk more than 10,000 steps a day, according to one study (AJHE). If you're living on campus in a dorm or university apartment housing, you're most likely going to share a bathroom. Slides are a must-have in college dorms and apartments.
Second, and you may have heard this from your parents: Dress for the job you want, not for the job you have. Yes, you're a college student, but you're making acquaintances and building relationships with mentors, professors and through internships who can help you launch your career. Don't show up to class wearing pajamas.

Chances are, you won't have access to high-end washing and drying machines, so launder your clothes with care so they last.
